However, the tips and recommendations about what to do the day before your runs or marathons seem to be less important for some people. - Setting everything out
It is advisable to have everything you’ll need under control the night before the run. In the morning you will be focused only in the run, it’s not time to look for things you should have ready the night before. Consider organizing things such as shoes and socks; shorts and shirt; hat and sunglasses; water and fuel; and a charged GPS.
- Going to bed early
Start by building better sleep hygiene practices and routines, this will help you run better the next day. Getting more sleep even few weeks before the run will be one of the best things you can do and you’ll see the results immediately.
What you eat before your run is super important. Avoid eating too much fiber and make sure to have a meal higher in carbohydrates. We recommend you to eat easy-to-digest foods such as bananas, morning shakes low in fiber and proteins, a cup of coffee, one wheat bagel and an energy bar.
You should respect and give some rest to your feet the day before your run. Avoid long walks to your job or any other place. Avoid spending any unnecessary time on your feet this day.
